    Local Happenings
    There was a dwelling house burned in Mounthoward in June 1936. Mr Kinsella owned the house. Mrs Kinsella was baking bread and a spark went up the chimney and fell on the thatch and set it on fire. It was burning for a long time till a man named Mr Doyle came in and told her the house was on fire. She did not know what to do for a while. She gathered some men and when the men came it was too late. The house was in flames and it was nearly all burnt to the ground. They did not mind much because it was insured. They did not m
