  1. Churning. June 28adh, 1938.
    The people around here churn with the hand. The churn is placed on a stand and it is turned about on an axle.
    The churn is the shape of a barrell. There is a hole in the side of the churn which is stuffed with a cork so the people can let the milk out of the churn. There is a cork on the top of the churn which should be pressed after churning a while to let out the wind. Butter is made about twice a week in summer and once a week in winter. The churning takes about twenty minutes. There is a little glass.
