  1. It was believed long ago that when certain people died, the dead coach was seen or heard on one of the adjoining roads. It would generally come in the middle of the night. If you met it you should cross the ditch because it is said that it completely fills the road. If you looked out across the ditch you would see a big hearse or coach as it is called, being driven by a headless man and two horses under it. It makes an awful noise. Everyone believed it long ago, but you would get no one to credit it now.
