  1. There was another old hedge school at Cummer. It was situated on the lands of Pierce Mc Manus, Cummer. The ruins of it are still to be seen.
    It is upward of seventy years ago, since anyone taught there.
    It was a mistress who taught there last. Her name was Miss Rosey Sheridan. As in the other hedge schools she taught reading, writing, and arithmetic. This school was situated a good distance from the road. There was a lane leading to it.
    After school hours Miss Sheridan used to teach the children in the neighbouring houses. This was a common practice in many other hedge schools. There are some old people alive who went to this school Pierce Mc Manus and William Doran attended it.
