In the townland of Annagh, about four miles from Monaseed is Bolton's bog. This bog is owned by a man named Darcy. It is said that there is half a chumfull of gold buried there and that this gold is guarded by a big black bull. Some time ago a few young men went in search of the gold and it is said that they were chased by the bull. No on knows who buried the gold or where it was buried.
