  1. There is a churn at home. It is 22 inchs in height and 58 ins broad. The sides are round
    It is ten years old. The parts are called :- The Lid, Keeler, Butter dish and spades. There is a number and a name on the bottom, Number three,
    Made by Timpany and Tylor, Liverpool.
    Butter is made twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter. My mother does the churning. The strangers who come in while churning also help with the work if not they would take the profit. The churning takes from 20 to 30 minutes.
    The churning is done by hand. The handle is turned and the barrel of the churn turns, right over. It is called an "end over end."
    There is glass on the top of the churn.
    When the glass is clear the butter is done. Hot water is poured into the churn
