    There is gold supposed to be buried in Mr Donohoe's quarry at Morriscastle, Kilmuckridge, Gorey but by whom it was buried is not known. It is believed that it was buried during the reign of Art Mac Murrough and that there is a tunnel from it to Ferns. It is told that there were attempts made to find the gold but it is not known who attempted it, and that when they were half way, they heard strange noises and turned back.
    It is not known that any attempts have been made since but it is believed that there is a woman guarding it and that many people met her there. There was one man going past it and he saw her sitting outside and she asked him to go in for a glass of water. He went in and saw three pots of gold with three dogs
