1) A school at Ballinamona taught by Maggie Roache ('Reddy' attended this school)
2) A school at Ballinahask in Larry Kirwan's field opposite where John Leary now lives, conducted by a Mr. Moore.(?)
3) Larry Doyle's Barn in the same locality
4) A hedge school run by a Mr. Kenny at the 'Pound' Ballyvaldon.
5) One at Gurraun by a Richard Stuart

1) As regards no 1 'Reddy' says it was conducted much like the Nat. Schools of the present day. The juniors wrote 'in pencil' the seniors 'in ink.' There was a black-board he remembers improvised desks. There was no going by Time Table. Fees were paid according to age, he himself paying 2 /. per quater when a big boy.
