    Miss O'Connor speaks of the race home after the wedding. The bride's garters given to the winner were hung from the horse's ears. The wedding feast of the very poor was 'potatoes and butter'. Couples were married in the houses in the olden days and at 'Station' times. There was once a Fr. Murphy, in the neighbouring parish, engaged in marrying a couple at a 'Station' in "Nacee" Kirwan's house.
