    To reach the Fort from Tinnaberna they had to descend a valley and cross a river losing sight of the Fort while doing so.
    When they reached the fort there was no sign of the hurlers. They searched around but not a soul was to be seen. When they returned to the house Tome Ryan was there and assured his mother that neither he nor any of the other boys had been out of Tinnaberna at any time that day.
    Mr. Whelan says he would not meddle with the soil of that place if he for the "sweep" for doing so.
