  2. Big Wind of 1839:
    Aidan Parker of Ballinadrissogue tells me he heard from his father that all the corn of the country got 'mixed' during a Great wind storm in his youth - probably the above. To explain 'mixed' the corn was blown clean off the fields and so the mixing took place.
