    Swift Runners:
    Mr. Belvin and his wife both assure me they saw Phelim "Darby" on a harvest evening some 40 years ago chase and capture a rabbit after a run over two fields and into his own haggard
    Great Walkers : Paddy Belvin father of the above walked from Dublin home within a June day. He left Dublin at 3 a.m, sat down and rested and fell asleep at sunset at a point two miles from his home. A passer-by awakened him and he related the remaining two miles was the test.
    Tommy Mythen of Ballina Blackwater did better even. He walked from Dublin also but to a point four miles further on. When he entered his own bán he saw a farm cart "heeled". "Take off the back band" said he and then with a mighty bound he jumped the car clear -'sailing out between the shafts'
