    There was a bailiff in Ross wan time an' his name was Mr Elf, and he met a man named John Sutton one day going down to Foulksmills.

    There was a bailiff in Ross wan time an' his name was Mr Elf, and he met a man named John Sutton one day going down to Foulksmills.
    John was a bit of a poet, and when he met Elf he says to him ;
    "Mr Elf is this yourself
    Wud your process and decrees
    Goin' down the hill of Foulksmill
    Wud your nose aginst the breeze"

    There was a priest in Clongeen wan time, and this day he was readin' his Office in a field belongin' to a fella named Caule
    Begob, Caule shut and locked the gate goin' into the field an' would'nt let 'im in.
    John Sutton the poet met Caule and says he to him:
    "Michael Caule, if you were sick
    a priest you'd call
    But you ought to be disappointed
