  1. Composed by a teacher who was in Carrigbyrne some years ago.
    I
Dear Isle of ours, how blessed thou art with scenery so grand
Thy noble structures day by day are proudest in the land
Dame Nature's hand neer touched a spot that to me is half so dear
As Carrigbyrne's enchanting shades the forest of the fair.
In summer when thy breast is green
Thou sweet it is to stray
Along thy groves of laurel sheen and heather covered (bray?)
Killarney's Lakes are beautiful yet not to me so dear
As Carrigbyrne's enchanting shades the fairest of the fair
    II
Thy sons and daughters too are true
