    26th August 1938
On the 26th December in the year 1881 the "Hantoon" was lost. The day was calm and bright but about half past five in the morning a huge British ship came along and split the barque of the "Hantoon" in two.
Out of the eleven men that were on the ship three along with Captain Neill were drowned. The others were brought to land in small boats. This Wexford vessel was wrecked off the coast of Portugal.
