  1. One battle took place in
Scallan's field in Mulgannon; also in
Boxwell's field in Kerlogue; in Ballangone, Enniscorthy; and in the Bull-ring in Wexford.
The greatest battle of them all took place in the mowen fields in Barony of Forth.
Tanner and Davis were the two big leaders.
There was a duel fight in a field in Bellmount and grass never grew on the spot. The spot is to be seen to the present day.
In '98 a man by the name of Hempensal was walking in Newtown, near the THREE ROCKS, when he was killed by soldiers, who were hiding in a field near-by. They say he was a labourer.
