  1. Going to bed long ago, the old people used say many prayers.
    Some were as follows :-
    i. First they used make the sign I.N.R.I. on their foreheads with holy-water, saying : "Jesus of Nazerath, King of the Jews, preserve me from a sudden + private death."
    ii. In time of an epidemic :-
    St. Roch preserve us from all contagouus diseases"
    iii "God bless the work" +
    "God save all here" of course were common salutations on entering a house where work was going on.
