    The masters generally wore, on Sundays etc., tall-hats, mufflers, legging of good leather, men all wore bright-coloured handkerchiefs. The poor class used those handkerchiefs in which to tie up their belongings when travelling - on foot - from place to place. These bundles were generally carried on the top of a stick and slung over the shoulder.

  2. Consisted chiefly of Potatoes and buttermilk
    -knives and forks were never used - Milk served in "mugs"
    Oaten food and milk. Home-made barley bread.
    Little meat-freah seldom- Pig killed and cured at home. Pigs puddings considered a dainty.
    Workmen got no tea.
    Tea served in the parlour only - to "the ladies.
