  1. Hallow Eve. Colcannon Night.
    Potatoes, cabbage, parsnips, onions, mashed up with "pot stick", a dash of pepper and salt, was eaten on Hallow Eve.
    There was a ring, thimble and button put into colcannon.
    Dipping for apples. They dipped for apples on Hallow Eve in Carne long ago.
    They also roasted beans on fire.
    They had a "Barm Brack" for supper with ring in it.
    They also had "Game of Three Saucers".
    Clay in one saucer, water in another and ring in third saucer. A person was blindfolded, if he put finger in water he would cross sea, if in clay he would die, and if he put his hand in saucer where ring was he would be married.
