  1. Jack Stones are not played in Carne School now.
    They were played about twenty years ago.
    "High Gates" and "Low Gates", "Put cows in Pound and Milking them". "Make Butter and taste it".
    Another school game was "Thread the Needle and Sew".
    The boys played "Willie four Corners" ie. a game played something like "Hide and Go seek".
    Friars Ground was another ancient game popular among children in Carne.
    "Willie Four corners" was played like this -
    A boy was placed in each of 4 corners, one boy stood in middle, he was called "The Fool" (The Fool).
    A boy from one corner calls another boy from corner, the fool tries to rush to corner vacated, if he succeeds in getting in before boy, he loses his title of "Fool" and gains a corner, the other boys becomes a "fool" and loses his corner.
    Tossing buttons and firing marbles were very popular also. Tossing buttons was played like "Pitch, Toss", buttons being used instead of money.
    Firing marbles: A round ring or circle was made, marbles placed in ring, if there were ten
