    It is said that it is unlucky to set a hen on Friday. A girl set a hen on Friday morning, and she put 13 eggs under her. She set her in a corner of a house, she went out in the evening to see if the hen was all right. When she went out the hen was gone. A fox had taken her and a rat had sucked the eggs, and she said "May no body have any luck to set a hen on Friday."
    I heard this story about the hen and girl from my mother, Mrs Meyler, Cousinstown Bridge.
