    There's a cross in Tenacre a place of renown
    A nice little village eight miles from the town.
    Where the good Irish peasant on Sunday is seen.
    Propped up by the window of Pender's Shibeen
    That neat little pub which read on it's sign
    Licensed to sell bar, spirits and wine.
    At the close of the day
    When his work is all done
    Dick Whit will go up to join in the fun.
