    Rebellion of 1798
    Wexford.
The regular outbreak is said to have been caused by the burning of the little Chapel of Boolavogue.
The parish priest Father Murphy placed himself at the head of the rebels. The North Cork Militia conducted a search for arms and their treatment of the people inflicting various forms of torture caused the utmost indignation.
Father Murphy took up a strong position on Oulart Hill. The Irish repulsed with great slaughter a attack made by them on the North Cork Militia.
