  1. In the land of Newtown, Clearistown, there is an old Rath. It is a big ring covered with bushes and ferns.
    About seventy seven or seventy eight years ago the neighbours used to hear the fairies singing and see lights and fires; even some of them used to see the fairies themselves.
    Mrs Coghlan, Newtown, the owner of the land asked the priest if she could till it but he advised her to leave it alone as she had enough land without it.
