  1. About 2 years ago there was a school where the Chaple and grave-yard of Clearistown now stand. Not very many people went to this school and they were taught English only.
    There was no special time for closing in the evening and the master could keep them learning as long as he liked.
    This school was not high and was built of stone and mud but there was a slated roof on it, and it had a boarded floor.
    The desks were long and sloping, but the seats were not attached to them like those of the present day.
    Mr. Patrick Lennon taught in it for many years. He lived in Skeeter Park very many years ago.
