    The people long ago never white-washed in the month of May, and the farmers would not give any milk to the people around the place because it would not be lucky.
    The girls used to go to the fair on May Day to be hired by the farmers for a year.
    The children used to get May bushes and decoate them with flowers, and dance around them on the crossroads.
    The people around Taghmon used to kill a cock and sprinkle the blood on the out-houses to keep disease away.
