    SIGNS OF RAIN
    1. Corn pains and Rheumatic pains become more acute on the approach of rain. Some old people especially are sort of human barometers in this respect
    2. In Summer flies seem to be more numerous and more annoying than usual.
    at corn cutting time hosts of midges and flying ants crawling on the roads or on walls are regarded as almost certain Signs of rain
    3. The calling of curlews heralds a storm
    4. The Saltee Islands appearing nearer
    5. Swallows skimming low. The converse holds Good when they fly high
    6. Hens taking dust baths and scratching up the earth
    7. A halo or ring round the moon
    8 Guinea fowl fly to the tops of trees or houses.
    9. Spiders' webs + threads show a Silvery appearance.
    10. Soot fallling down.
    11. "Spiders from their cob webs creep"
    12. When the new moon appears on her back it is a Sign of approaching bad weather.
    13. When a frog comes into the kitchen on a Summer's evening
    14. If the Stars twinkle
    15. A dog eating Grass is a Sign of rain
