  1. A man was working in the fields near Grantstown Chapel one evening late in the autumn. Resting to fill his pipe, and have a smoke, his eyes wandered to the ditch. There, standing in the midst of a thick hedge he saw a beautiful white lamb staring intently at him. Being autumn he was amazed to see a lamb. He went to the ditch to see if there were sheep in the field behind the hedge. No! Yet the lamb was still there looking straight at him. It remained in that position for about twenty minutes. Then it moved slowly away on the top of the hedge and suspending itself in mid-air flew in the direction of Grantstown Chapel.
The incident brought a great change over the man for he concluded it was supernatural. Hitherto he had been greatly addicted to drink and all round careless. Now he took the pledge and became a model of goodness and remained so to the hour of his death - 40 years after.
