  1. The Assumption falls on the fifteenth of August. Great races are in Tramore on that day. The people from all around go to them. The races are very good on that day. The trains leave Ballycullane at eleven o clock. The children that go with the people get lost, and the guards bring them to the station, and the get them there.

  2. Trawn Water

    The Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday before the feast of the Ascension are called Rogation days. These are days of special prayer to God for the necessities of the people such as pardon for sins and preservation of the fruits of the earth.
    During these days trawn water is shaken in the fields. This is done to prevent the trawn a tiny worm from eating
