We long will remember that wet September,
On Wednesday the 15th near ten at nightWhen 'mid sobs and sighing our Pastor dying,

Oh cruel death, Oh (rentless?) dagger did the country stagger from end to end,
You've left the orphans without a Father,
And the evicted tenants without a friendWhen the land agitations confused the nations
He took his station in freedoms (train?)
He denounced those grabbing (?) in all his (?)
Did Fr Murphy from (?)III
Dr (?), Walsh and Brogan for three months struggled his life to save,
But those two diseases scarce (?) (?) until they take their victim to an (?)
For some time he rallied and outward (sallied?),
