  1. There was a man and his name was John (Nolan?). He lived with his daughter (Annie?) (Nolan?).
    Then man himself was a fool and the people used to be making fun of him.
    They used to (stop?) the (chimney?) and tie the door (and?) (?) poison them out of the house.
    One night some fellows got into the (?) and (?) a mark of a crock of gold in the (?).
    When John hot up in the morning and went out into the garden he saw the shape of the crock.
    When he went in he said to his daughter "there it was right under my nose and they took it last night".
