    Jack said, "I want to say goodbye to my mother.".
    The giant said he would leave him at home for one year and one day.
    When the year and one day were up the dog came and knocked at the door.
    Jack came out and the dog took out a cigarette. He gave one to Jack.
    When he came out to the place where the giant was he caught Jack by the shoulder, and he said, "Is this you Jack."
    The giant took him out to a pig-house that had not been cleaned out with five years. He told him to sleep in this house.
    In the morning the giant called Jack early and told him to catch a horse that was not caught with fifty years and to put a bridle on him.
    There was a fairy girl in the house. Jack could not catch the horse.
    The fairy girl gave him a silver wand to catch the horse.
    The giant showed him twenty-one spears
