One day he saw a big building and he went to it but there was no one living in it.
He went to a (big?) (farmer's?) place that was near it and asked for work.
The farmer said he would give him plenty of work if he would sleep in that big building over there.
He said that he would so when night came the farmer brought the man to the building and gave him a pipe and tobacco and food and drink and told him that (twentyfour?) men had slept here and were found dead in the morning. So the farmer went away and locked the door after him.
