  1. Long ago people were every superstitious about the things the did, and some remain with us to-day.
    It is unlucky to walk under a ladder.
    A green Christmas makes a fat graveyard.
    If the first person you meet in the morning is red-haired it is the sign of bad luck for the day.
    Long ago nobody would sell a drop of milk on May day, because they though they would not have any more milk till the next May day.
    To carry tools on your shoulders into the house is very unlucky.
    To cut a baby's nails before it is a year old is unlucky.
    To cut or bring bushes out of a fort is very unlucky
    If you meet a funeral you should always turn and walk 9 steps with it.
    When a funeral is passing by you should always close your door not to let in death
