  1. On the main road between here, and Mullingar, there is a little village called Rathowen. This village was called after a great man whose name was "Owen"
    This man has possession of this Rath while he lived, he had in it a wonderful stronghold.
    He had a big river of water running all around it, and in order to get in and out they used to have to let down bridges which they could lift up again. Therfore nobody could get in or out those who live in it.
