  1. There was once a poor family of two a husband and wife. A fairy appeared to them and said they could have any three wishes they liked. The fairy said "if they [?] at haste they would repent at leisure". She then disappeared. They prepared a meal and while eating it the wife said " a poor meal, I wish we had a sausage". A fried sausage came down the chimney and alighted on the plate. "You hungry old devil" said the man "that it my stick to your nose". It then stuck to her nose. They tried to pull it off but in vain. The wife did not want to be a public laugh so she called for its removal. They lost the chance of their life through the wife's folly.
