- (continued from previous page)In a place called Ballyhoulin,
Not very far from Moate.
A shocken sad occurance has happened to a goat,
Since last October's sessions she has not milked a tent.
Since Harry Bond and Bernard has seized her for the rent,
They marched her into Longford according to the law,
They kept her there for three long days,
And gave her nothing to eat but straw,
The owner he released her a fine he had to pay,
And ever since the seizure the goat has pined away,
John Smith was called in his opinion for to give.
Says he the poor old creature she has not long to live,
To quack her tis but useless.
And medcine tis in vain.
So tis better cut her winson and put her out of pain
She was a good and useful goat they now mourn her loss.
Since she was sentenced to die by Smith from Drumnacross.
So now her carcuse is in the clay.
And her skin is turned to tonbereen.
And every whack it will get the music it will play
