  1. Once upon a time a man was going home from a card party. He came to a gate and he crossed it. He saw a man playing cards and he started to play. A card dropped and the man stooped to pick it up. When he stooped he saw it was the devil he knew him by his cloven foot. When he got up the devil was gone and the cards were gone also.

  2. There is a legend in this town that "A Dead Coach" comes up from the Tan Yard and goes up the town and down Richmond Street. It then turns and goes down the town again and goes around Church Street and then goes back to the Tan Yard again.
    It has been seen by many.
