There is an old ruin on the other side of the Parsons house and it was once the site of a Dominican Church.

being O'Farrells. They were hanged from a tree near St Johns Church
One of the oldest ruins here is that of the old church in Ballymacormack grave yard. There was no glass in that time of its being built as the place of windows show. This ruin was once a monastery and a church. The holy water font is still to be seen and it is believed there is a cure in the water for warts.
