  1. We have no names on our cows, except we call one of them "The Speckled Cow". She is a very big cow and she would let nobody milk her except my mother.
    When we want to call the cows we say "Pruggie Pruggie" and they always come.
    In summer time the cows stay out in the fields but in winter time we keep them in the byre.
    At the end of the byre there is a thick stick across from one end to the other.There are posts set in the floor and the tops of these posts are nailed to the thick stick. These posts are called "Stakes". The cows are tied to these posts one cow to each. The cows are tied with chains which are tied around their necks.
    When my father is making a fresh place for a cow he puts a fresh stake in the byre and he gets
