    Long ago there was a landlord who collected the rent in the townland. The landlord for this district was Captain White. The landlord for Legga was McConkey and the landlord for Aughaga was King Harman. The rent long ago was a lot more than it is now. It was £1 an acre. Captain White lived at Cloone Grange. McConkey lived in Dublin and King Harman lived in some place near Ballymahon.
