  1. Long ago it was said that there was a crock of gold hidden under a big tree in a valley near Arva. Co. Cavan. It was thought that it was left there by the Danes. People often attempted to look for it but it was said it would not be got till a life would be lost. My grandfather made an attempt to reach it and nothing happened to him. He always said that fierce wild cats were minding it. There was never any light seen about the place.
