When the English soldiers were leaving Ballinamuck...

When the English soldiers were leaving Ballinamuck, one of their officers at a place called Gaigue went into a farmhouse for a drink. The woman of the house gave him a noggin of cream, and while he had the vessel raised to his head, she hit him with a mallet on the neck and killed him.
