    arrive the Clonbroney men retreated towards Ballinalee. They were captured and hanged in the townland of Cavan near by.
    Note: - In an outhouse now the property of W Hetherton Gurteenreevagh, Ballinalee, Parish of Clonbroney, Barony Granard Co Longford, two pike heads were discovered recently. A man named Paddy Rogers Currygrane in the same parish claims they belonged to his grandfather who lived in a house formerly sited here, and who fought in Ballinamuck and escaped.
