  1. Once in the year 1927 in Co. Leitrim at the cross roads of Legganomar a few men were coming home from a wake.
When they got near the cross roads they saw a man stretching a ball of yarn along the road. He had a lighted coal at one end of the yarn, and a reaping hook at the other end.
One of the men said, "What is he doing." "Ah, the man is gathering hay" says an other. When they came near him, they all looked at him, and as they did he disappeared, leaving the coal, yarn, and hook behind him. When they went past his yarn, coal, and hook the man came back and started to fix the yarn again.
My uncle Patrick Gill was along with the men that night and saw it all. He told me this story.
