    Sunday for seven years, meeting the Catholics as they came out from Mass. This penance Robinson faithfully performed. I met him myself on many a Sunday and whether he cheerfully accepted it or not I don't know, but I suppose, that in his heart of hearts he believed that it saved him, for the time being at least, from hell and the power of the devil.
