  1. There was a man living in Finea long ago. He was a very strong man. One day, as he was standing on the top of a big hill, he took a big rock in his hand and he threw it across all the trees and houses until it landed beside Derragh Lough. You can see the track of his hand in the rock to this day.

  2. Once upon a time there was a man living in Castlepollard. He was a very great walker. He was very fond of going to fairs. One day he heard that there was going to be a great cattle fair in Dublin.
    So, the next morning, he took four of the best cattle he had out of the field and he started for Dublin. He left the house at about six o'clock in the morning. The cattle went on very well for him for a
