    and one in James Hosey's field. The one in Mr Steevenson's field is called the Quarry Hill, the one in Hosey's field is called Drumelligan. There was a battle fought on it the time of the Black and tans.
    There is another hill near Granard called the Moat of Granard it overlooks the town of Granard, at the rising of '98 there was a terrible battle fought on it
    Hempsenstall hanged a lot of people
    My father told me all this information aged fifty two years.

    Fairy Forts
    There are a lot of fairy forts in my district one at James Kearney's Tonneywarden and another at Peter McGuires Killeen and our fort at Tonneywarden.
    It is very unlucky to cut bushes in a fort because it was often the means of losing a man's eye.
    James Kearneys fort has three big bushes in the middle
