    Buying and Selling
    Shops were common long ago in the district there used to be one or two shops in every townland there were two in Toneywarden Philip Monaghans and Frank Mulligans and there were two shops in Feriskel one above Glancey's and another at Tom Reillys crossroads.
    People would never go to the town unless when they wanted to buy clothes and some people out of the towns used to go around the country selling pins and collar studs and looking for rags or horse hair and they would give a card of pins and collar studs for a few potatoes.
