    Proverbs
    4th April, 1938.
The proverbs that I have heard from the old people are: -
"Bend with the tree that will bend with you."
"If the messenger be cold the answer is cold."
"The day always finds fault with the work of the night."
"Keep the bone and the dog will follow you."
    "Don't praise, don't disparage yourself."
"Don't show your teeth until you can bite."
"If you go to the court leave your soul at home."
"If a man empties his purse into his head no man can take it from him. An investment in knowledge, always keeps the best Interest."
"The development of the future depends on the efforts of the present. It is perseverance that pays."
